Distribution, habitat, and phenology:— Tropical Asia in Borneo, China (Guangxi and Hainan provinces), NE- (Assam state) and SW- (Kerala; see Soumya 2018) India, Eastern Himalayas, Indonesia (Lesser Sunda Islands), Java, Laos, Malay Peninsula, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam (POWO 2022). Populations grow on sandy and clayey soils, on rocky beds near river valleys and sandy shores, mostly at 600–700 m of elevation. The flowering and fruiting times are both June to October.
