General color dark brown (Fig. 1A). Head mostly brownish with black subquadrate interocellate patch (Fig. 2A). M-line and tentorial calluses distinct. Antennae dark brown, palpi yellow brown. Pronotum brown with distinct rugosities darker than background color, anterior and lateral margins and midline brown (Fig. 2A). Legs: femora basally yellow to yellow brown, distally dark brown, tibiae and tarsi dark brown; the femoral yellow band widened in mid- and hindlegs and variable in individuals (Figs. 1A, 1B). Wing membrane brownish, veins dark brown (Fig. 6A).</p> <p>Male (Fig. 2A–2C). Forewing length 21.1–24.9 mm, hindwing length 18.1–21.2 mm (n=5). Hemitergal lobe long and slender, ca 4X as long as the wide. In dorsal view, hemitergal lobe strongly recurved, covering posterior part of tergum 9; hemitergal lobe in lateral view gradually and gently upcurved apically, apex with dorsal and ventral spinules (Figs. 2B, 2C). Tergum 9 with dark mesal sclerite bearing sensilla basiconica covering at least ⅔ length of tergum 9 between lateral margins and the sclerite present paler area. Tergum 8 with similar sized sensilla basiconica patch as on tergum 9 (Fig. 2B). Tergum 7 sometimes with only a few sensilla basiconica. Metasternum and abdominal sterna 4–7 with patches of setae (Fig. 7A).</p> <p>Aedeagus (Figs. 2D–F, 8A–C) with basal half mostly membranous but dorsal surface with a brown sclerotized trapezoidal marking (Fig. 2D, 8A). Distal half with large patches of spines interrupted only by a large, dorsal, starfish like membrane and a membranous mesoventral patch (Fig. 2E), in lateral aspect apex with a thumb-like membranous projection (Fig. 2F). The fully everted aedeagus with some differences from Figure 2: ventroapical patch of spinules rhombic (Fig. 8B), apical membranous protrusion widened in lateral aspect (Fig. 8C).</p> <p>Female. Unknown.</p> <p>Type material. China (Hunan Province).</p> <p>Remarks. The male of the new species can be distinguished from all other known species of the genus by the aedeagus with large starfish like dorsal membrane and the membranous mesoventral patch. The aedeagus of K. hunanensis sp. n. is similar to that of K. wangi Sun &amp; Du, 2012, a species reported from Henan and Shaanxi provinces. General body color pale to brown (Fig. 1B). Head mostly pale brown, interocellar area an inverted triangular brown patch, anterolaterally extending along M-line, Y–shaped. M–line pale, a light brown, triangular area anterior to M-line. Antennae light to dark brown, pedicel yellowish; palpi brownish. Pronotum pale brown, rugosities obscure, pronotal stripe along suture brown (Fig. 3A). Legs yellowish brown. Wings membrane pale brown, veins brown (Fig. 6B).</p> <p>Male (Figs. 3A–3C). Forewing length 13.5–14.0 mm, hindwing length 11.0– 12.1 mm (n=2). Hemitergal lobe slender, finger-like, apex slightly curved upward, ventrally with a few apical spines (Figs. 3B, 3C). Tergum 9 with a large patch of sensilla basiconica covering full length of the tergum. Tergum 8 with a smaller posteromedian patch of sensilla basiconica (Fig. 3B). Tergum 7 without sensilla basiconica, but with small spinous patches in one male (Fig. 3B). Setal brushes present on metasternum and sterna 4–7 (Fig. 7B).</p> <p>Aedeagus (Figs. 3D–F). Aedeagus membranous, basally sac is mostly membranous but on dorsal surface with a wide, light brown sclerite medially and a field of minute spines that is continuous to the ventral surface (Fig. 3D). Distal third with ventral patch of larger spines (Figs. 3D–F), in lateral aspect apex seems enlarged because of a dorsal subapical lobe and an additional distal lobe (Fig. 3F).</p> <p>Female (Fig. 4) Forewing length 17.9–18.3 mm, hindwing length 14.9–15.1 mm (n=5). General color yellow brown (Fig. 4A). Subgenital plate of sternum 8 produced forming a wide triangular plate covering anterior third of sternum 9 (Figs. 4B, 4C). Vagina simple, membranous, oval-shaped. Spermathecal stalk evenly curved, apical half globular with truncate apex (Fig. 4D).</p> <p>Egg (Fig. 5). 417–422 μm long and 208–227 μm wide (n=4). Under light microscopy, chorion dark brown. Scanning electron microscopy depicts egg as barrel shaped with circular cross section (Fig. 5A). Collar short, stalk obscure, rim flanged with 2-3 rows of follicular cell impressions (FCIs) (Figs. 5A–C). Collar short, and opercular end pointed with distinct FCIs only near apex (Figs. 5D, 5E). Micropyles number 3-6, linearly located, rim slightly raised, surrounded by indistinct FCIs (Figs. 5D, 5F).</p> <p>Type material. The specific name refers to the type locality, Ziwuling National Nature Reserve.</p> <p>Distribution. China (Shaanxi Province).</p> <p>Remarks. The new species is similar to K. shaanxinensis Li &amp; Mo, 2018, also of Shaanxi Province, by the similar terga 7–10. However, the aedeagi of these two species are significantly different: in K. ziwulinga, armatures is small sized and median portion of the dorsal surface has a brown sclerite, while in K. shaanxinensis, aedeagal spines are much larger and the mesodorsal portion is membranous (figs. 1c, 1e, Li &amp; Mo, 2018).
