03E9AB31FFFAFFE22FF3BC3ED8602799.taxon	diagnosis	Differential diagnosis. Brachyllus songhaitiani Zhao, Qi, Su & Liao, new species is very similar to B. svetlanae Keith, 2006 (Figs. 1 C, 2 B) from Guangxi, China. The moderately long setae upon elytra of B. songhaitiani new species are spiniform or lanceolate (Fig. 2 A) but oblanceolate in B. svetlanae (Fig. 2 B). In lateral view, the dorsal carina on paramere of B. songhaitiani new species raises stronger than in B. svetlanae (Fig. 7 A). Lower margin of paramere of B. songhaitiani new species strongly concave subapically, but it is straight in B. svetlanae (Fig. 7 B).	en	Zhao, Ming-Zhi, Qi, Zhi-Hao, Su, Rong-Xiang, Liao, Tao-Kun (2023): New and poorly known species of the genus Brachyllus Brenske, 1896 (Coleoptera Scarabaeidae: Melolonthinae) from China. 03E9AB31FFF8FFE72FF3B80FDBC02586.taxon	diagnosis	Differential diagnosis. Brachyllus dongzhiweii Zhao, new species is most similar to B. frontalis Brenske, 1896 (Fig. 3 C – D). The new species can be easily separated from B. frontalis by the shorter antennal club, which is equal to the combined length of antennomeres 3 – 4 but of antennomeres 3 – 6 in the latter species (Fig. 4 A – B). The setae on lateral portions of abdominal ventrites are stouter (Fig. 4 C – D). The elytra of the new species bear some short setae, while short setae are almost imperceptible on elytra of B. frontalis (Fig. 4 E – F). Moreover, the shape of parameres differs a lot in lateral view: in B. dongzhiweii new species, the dorsal concavity is much shallower and the upper lobe is rounded ventrally, the lower lobe distinctly protruding. B. frontalis has deep dorsal concavity, ventrally protruding upper lobe and weakly protruding lower lobe (Fig. 7 I – L). Other two Himalayan congeners, B. ulcerosus Brenske, 1896 and B. bhutanensis Keith, 2005 are also similar. But the two have a distinctly opaque and uneven pronotum, in contrast to the shiny and less uneven in B. dongzhiweii new species and B. frontalis.	en	Zhao, Ming-Zhi, Qi, Zhi-Hao, Su, Rong-Xiang, Liao, Tao-Kun (2023): New and poorly known species of the genus Brachyllus Brenske, 1896 (Coleoptera Scarabaeidae: Melolonthinae) from China. 03E9AB31FFFDFFE92FF3BBFBDE66233F.taxon	diagnosis	Differential diagnosis. Brachyllus tangzhaoyangi Zhao, new species appears to be the most peculiar Brachyllus species. However, other structures, e. g. antenna, pronotum and legs, clearly subject its status to Brachyllus.	en	Zhao, Ming-Zhi, Qi, Zhi-Hao, Su, Rong-Xiang, Liao, Tao-Kun (2023): New and poorly known species of the genus Brachyllus Brenske, 1896 (Coleoptera Scarabaeidae: Melolonthinae) from China. 03E9AB31FFF2FFE82FF3BBC5D8442793.taxon	discussion	Remarks. An additional specimen of B. langeri was collected from Mt. Banggunjianshan, circa 160 km southwest to Panwar, the type locality. When describing B. langeri, Keith (2008) did not compare it with B. rougeriei Keith, 2003. However, the authors noticed a close resemblance between the two taxa. In B. langeri, general body color is more blackish, punctures on pronotum are slightly denser and apex of paramere is somewhat truncated in lateral view (rounded in B. rougeriei). Considering the minor differences in both external and genital features, the authors suggest to treat B. langeri as a subspecies of B. rougeriei.	en	Zhao, Ming-Zhi, Qi, Zhi-Hao, Su, Rong-Xiang, Liao, Tao-Kun (2023): New and poorly known species of the genus Brachyllus Brenske, 1896 (Coleoptera Scarabaeidae: Melolonthinae) from China.
