1B04DE57FFE5FFCC68C3859FD796F883.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. Filatima is diagnosed by the presence of ocelli, the recurved labial palpus having a brush of modified scales beneath the second segment, and the relatively broad hindwing with slightly excavated termen. The male genitalia are characterized by having an uncus with small lateral lobes, a curved stout gnathos that is serrate on the inner margin, and a robust phallus not tapered and with extensions of phallus sheath and cornuti distally. The female genitalia are distinguishable by the very short ductus bursae with short spines on the inner wall. Filatima is externally similar to Athrips Billberg, 1820, Aroga Busck, 1914, Stegasta Meyrick, 1904 and Chionodes Hübner, 1825 of the tribe Gelechiini. However, Aroga and Stegasta are absent of a gnathos, Athrips has a phallus dilated basally and distinctly tapered distally, and Chionodes has a slender phallus which is rod-shaped basally and wider distally.	en	Oh, Hyonju, Zhang, Xiuying, Li, Houhun (2023): Taxonomy of the genus Filatima Busck, 1939 (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) in China. 1B04DE57FFE6FFCF68C38787D36AFBED.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. Adult (Fig. 1): Wingspan 17.0 mm. Filatima angustipennis is superficially similar to F. ukrainica Piskunov, 1971. It can be distinguished by the lack of a saccus and the phallus without cornuti (Fig. 21), while the saccus is well developed and the phallus has cornuti in the latter species (Medvedev 1989: fig. 655 - 11). This species is also similar to F. xanthuris (Meyrick, 1927) in male genitalia, and it can be distinguished by the sacculus as long as the valva and the posterior margin of the vinculum deeply emarginated in triangle. In F. xanthuris, the sacculus is shorter than the valva, and the posterior margin of the vinculum is weakly emarginated (Hodges & Adamski 1997: fig. 15).	en	Oh, Hyonju, Zhang, Xiuying, Li, Houhun (2023): Taxonomy of the genus Filatima Busck, 1939 (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) in China. 1B04DE57FFE6FFCF68C38787D36AFBED.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Filatima angustipennis was synonymized with F. albicostella by Sattler (1968). Huemer and Karsholt (1999) reinstated F. angustipennis as a valid species based on the difference in the length and the emargination width of the vinculum as well as the shading of the color. However, the length and the emargination width of the vinculum are unreliable characters for a likely spreading species, and the shading of the color was also observed in the congeneric species, such as F. pallipalpella (Snellen, 1884) (Bidzilya and Nupponen 2018: 397) and F. yanchiensis sp. nov. In this sense, F. angustipennis is most likely a synonym of F. albicostella as established by Sattler (1968). As there is only one specimen in this study, we herein follow Huemer and Karsholt (1999), treating F. angustipennis as a valid species.	en	Oh, Hyonju, Zhang, Xiuying, Li, Houhun (2023): Taxonomy of the genus Filatima Busck, 1939 (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) in China. 1B04DE57FFE6FFCF68C38348D0D9F823.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. Adult (Fig. 2): Wingspan 15.0 – 17.0 mm. Filatima asiatica is superficially similar to F. pagicola (Meyrick, 1936). It can be distinguished by the forewing without a cream white spot at the costal margin, and in the male genitalia by the absence of the anellus lobes and the phallus with three cornuti (Fig. 22); in F. pagicola, the forewing has an indistinct cream white spot near basal 3 / 4 of the costal margin (Fig. 6), the anellus lobes are well developed, and the phallus has two cornuti (Fig. 26). This species is similar to F. karsholti Ivinskis & Piskunov, 1989 in male genitalia, and it can be distinguished by the saccus distinctly narrowed to narrowly rounded apex, and the phallus with weakly sclerotized, folded bands in distal 2 / 3; in F. karsholti, the saccus is subparallel to before obtuse apex, and the phallus has a triangular sclerite in the distal 2 / 3 (Fig. 23).	en	Oh, Hyonju, Zhang, Xiuying, Li, Houhun (2023): Taxonomy of the genus Filatima Busck, 1939 (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) in China. 1B04DE57FFE7FFCE68C38787D6EEFBE7.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. Adult (Fig. 3): Wingspan 15.0 – 20.0 mm. Filatima karsholti is characterized by the forewing with brown scales along veins, with black spot at middle of fold as well as at middle and end of cell respectively, the termen with black dots, and the lustrous grayish brown hindwings; in the male genitalia by the subtrapezoid uncus, the deeply emarginated posterior margin of the vinculum, the subparallelly sided saccus longer than the sacculus, and the phallus with three cornuti and a triangular sclerite that extends from basal 1 / 3 to distal 1 / 4 (Fig. 23). This species is similar to F. sciocrypta (Meyrick, 1936) in both external appearance and male genitalia. However, it can be distinguished from the latter by the deeply emarginated posterior margin of the vinculum and the presence of a triangular sclerite in the phallus. In contrast, F. sciocrypta has a slightly emarginated posterior margin of the vinculum and lacks a triangular sclerite in the phallus (Bidzilya & Nupponen 2018: figs 50, 52, 53). The constrasting features of the male genitalia between this species and F. asiatica Sattler, 1961 are given in the diagnosis specifically for the latter species.	en	Oh, Hyonju, Zhang, Xiuying, Li, Houhun (2023): Taxonomy of the genus Filatima Busck, 1939 (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) in China. 1B04DE57FFE1FFCA68C38787D68DFEF6.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. Filatima pagicola can be distinguished by the forewing with an indistinct cream white spot near the basal 3 / 4 of the costal margin (Fig. 6); in the male genitalia by the hooked anellus lobe, and the phallus with two sclerotized lateral extensions and two cornuti (Fig. 26); and in the female genitalia by the eighth sternite having a triangular medial sclerite, the ductus bursae with longitudinal sclerotized folds and produced outward posterolaterally (Fig. 33). This species is superficially similar to F. asiatica Sattler, 1961, and the specific distinctions between them are stated in the diagnosis of F. asiatica Sattler, 1961. The phallus of this species stands out with its rounded apex in the left extension, a characteristic that serves as a clear distinguishing feature from other species within the genus.	en	Oh, Hyonju, Zhang, Xiuying, Li, Houhun (2023): Taxonomy of the genus Filatima Busck, 1939 (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) in China. 1B04DE57FFE1FFCA68C38787D68DFEF6.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Filatima pagicola was described on the basis of two specimens collected from Taishan of China by Meyrick (1936). We identified this species by comparing it with the description of Meyrick (1936) and the figures provided by Clarke (1969). We found that the female of this species is identical to the female of F. sciocrypta (Meyrick, 1936) in appearance and genitalia (see images provided by Bidzilya & Nupponen 2018: figs 51, 54). They share the following characters: the forewing with a blackish brown spot at base, at 1 / 5 and 2 / 3 below the costal margin as well as at 1 / 4 and 1 / 2 of the fold respectively, and a blackish brown spot surrounded by grayish yellow at middle and end of cell respectively; the female genitalia with the ductus bursae having longitudinal sclerotized folds and produced outward posterolaterally. Further, the female of F. sciocrypta differs from its male in appearance by having a broader forewing with a spot near basal 1 / 5 of the costal margin (see images provided by Bidzilya & Nupponen 2018: figs 50, 51). Therefore, the female of F. sciocrypta might be a mismatch.	en	Oh, Hyonju, Zhang, Xiuying, Li, Houhun (2023): Taxonomy of the genus Filatima Busck, 1939 (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) in China.
