The species is unique in having short genitoventral setae (≤114 μm), reticulated surface pattern on the genital shield from the level of Zv1 to the posterior margin, and by the presence of one or two additional unpaired setae between J4 on the dorsal shield. HOLOTYPE: female (MLP-CNP6316 /M7) ex Oligoryzomys flavescens, Pereyra, Partido de Berazategui, Buenos Aires, Argentina (34°50′13.84″S, 58°5′23.40″W). The new species was named in honour of Heinrich Schatz (Innsbruck, Austria) renowned soil ecologist and acarologist who advised E. Savchenko during her bachelor studies and stayed as a true friend over the years.</p> <p>Type host.
