Body coloration usually grayish yellow to grayish ocher. Head in dorsal aspect anterior margin forming obtuse angle, in facial aspect uniformly yellow, vertex and apical margin of anteclypeus darker, apical margin of crown and vertex without any spots. Face in lateral aspect slightly bowed, ventral part of frontoclypeus almost two times wider than anteclypeus, posterior margin of antennal ledge almost half-way between apical margin of crown and apical margin of anteclypeus. Pronotum generally grayish yellow to grayish ocher, fore margin with more or less wide dim dark patch behind each eye, posterior margin usually more grayish, first plural sclerite in lateral aspect subheptagonal, with spots. Scutellum yellow, with black scutellar spot, two concave dim spots between scutellar spots. Forewing generally smoky ocher. Tergal apodemes of 2nd abdominal base short, divided by rounded triangular notch. Sternal apodemes more or less developed, distinctly triangular, inner margins almost parallel, divided by wide rectangular notch.</p> <p>Male genitalia. Pygofer appendage comparatively wide, nearly straight, tapered before apical margin. Style more or less wide, abruptly constricted preapically, apical tooth distinctly bent inwards. Aedeagus in lateral aspect comparatively narrow at base, 1.15 times wider than length, broadened near midlength then tapered distally.</p> <p>Female. Body yellow to ocher. Head in facial aspect generally yellow, apical margin of crown and vertex without any spots. Face in lateral aspect bowed, center of eye closer to apical margin of lorum than to apical margin of crown. Pronotum generally yellow to ocher, fore margin no more strongly produced than in male, with more or less wide dim dark patch and tiny spot behind each eye, posterior margin usually darker, first plural sclerite in lateral aspect diamond shape, with spots. Scutellum yellow, with black spot, two concave dark spots between scutellar spots. Forewing generally smoky yellow.</p> <p>Female genitalia. Valvulae-II with 9–10 preapical teeth each.</p> <p>Length. Macropsis (Macropsis) koreana sp. nov.</p> <p>Fig. 2.</p> <p>Male. Overall coloration ocher to brownish yellow. Head in dorsal aspect anterior margin forming obtuse angle, in facial aspect generally pale ocher to pale yellow, frontoclypeus with transverse black marking on middle, vertex more or less darker, apical margin of crown without black spot, vertex with two spots. Face in lateral aspect bowed, ventral part of frontoclypeus slightly wider than anteclypeus, posterior margin of antennal ledge closer to apical margin of anteclypeus than apical margin of crown. Pronotum uniformly ocher to brownish yellow, fore margin with distinctly black patch behind each eye, posterior margin slightly brighter, first plural sclerite in lateral aspect distinctly rounded with black spots. Scutellum generally pale ocher to pale yellow, usually brighter than pronotum, distinctly large, as large as pronotum, with large black scutellar spots. Tarsi of legs without any patterns or spots, hind tibia in lateral aspect with small single spot. Forewing with pale gray patterns. Tergal apodemes of 2nd abdominal base comparatively long, triangular, divided by trapezoidal notch, inner margin slightly convergent. Sternal apodemes narrow, convergent, separated by triangular notch.</p> <p>Male genitalia. Pygofer appendage more or less narrow, apical margin bent outwards. Style narrow, armed dorsal from ventral margin, near to apical margin wider, apical tooth bent inwards. Aedeagus in lateral aspect narrow, 1.166 times wider than length, subparallel margined.</p> <p>Length. Male 4.7–5.0 mm.</p> <p>Type materials. Holotype: male, Seoraksan, Gangwon-do province, Korea, 2.vii.1984, Y.J. Kwon (KNU). Paratypes: 4 males, same data as holotype.</p> <p>Distribution. Korea (Central).</p> <p>Etymology. The specific name refers to the country of type locality.</p> <p>Host plant. Unknown.</p> <p>Remarks. Face in lateral aspect nearly flat, ventral part of frontoclypeus slightly inflated, posterior margin of antennal ledge closer to apical margin of anteclypeus than apical margin of crown. Pronotum usually pale yellow to pale green, with dark stripes, first plural sclerite in lateral aspect almost diamond shape, without spots. Scutellum with dark smoky pattern between scutellar spots. Hind tibia in lateral aspect with small single spot each. Forewing usually pale brown. Tergal apodemes of 2nd abdominal base distinctly long, well developed, bifurcated. Sternal apodemes comparatively less developed, triangular, divided by wide subrectangular shape.</p> <p>Male genitalia. Pygofer appendage narrow, before apical margin more or less bent inwards. Head in facial aspect usually yellow with two tiny orange spots and black concave spots on frontoclypeus, nearby apical margin of crown without grayish pattern, apical margin of crown with black spot, vertex with two black spots. Face in lateral aspect nearly flat, center of eye slightly closer to apical margin of crown than to apical margin of lorum. Pronotum generally grayish yellow to grayish ocher, fore margin no more produced than in male, with dark patch and two tiny spots behind each eye, posterior margin usually brighter, first plural sclerite in lateral aspect nearly rounded, with black spots. Scutellum distinctly yellow with black scutellar spots, two concave orange spots between scutellar spots. Claws of each leg with dark pattern, hind tibia in lateral aspect with black stripe each, apical margin of tarsus without black spot. Forewing dark brown with hyaline brown veins, veins brighter than male, posterior margin darker.</p> <p>Female genitalia. Valvulae-II with 2–3 preapical teeth each.</p> <p>Length. Macropsis (Macropsis) sophieae sp. nov.</p> <p>Fig. 7.</p> <p>Male. Overall coloration brown to pale brown. Head in dorsal aspect anterior margin broadly obtuse, in facial aspect generally pale brown with two large dark brown patterns and dark brown spots on frontoclypeus, vertex usually darker, apical margin of crown without black spot, vertex with two spots. Face in lateral aspect bowed, ventral part of frontoclypeus strongly inflated in male, posterior margin of antennal ledge almost half-way between apical margin of crown and apical margin of anteclypeus. Pronotum generally pale brown to ocher, fore margin with brown patch behind each eye and two tiny brown spots nearby crown, first plural sclerite in lateral aspect subpentagonal, without black spots. Scutellum with washed brown scutellar spots, between scutellar spots with parallel margined washed brown stripes. Hind tibia in lateral aspect without patterns. Forewing dark brown with hyaline brown veins. Tergal apodemes of 2nd abdominal base short, divided by rounded triangular notch. Sternal apodemes comparatively long, convergent, divided by rounded notch.</p> <p>Male genitalia. Pygofer appendage narrow, slightly bent inwards, apical margin not bent. Style narrow, elongated, before apical margin slightly narrow, apical teeth bent inwards. Aedeagus in lateral aspect more or less narrow, 1.05 times wider than length, parallel margined.</p> <p>Female. Usually body coloration ocher to bright ocher in female, and comparatively brighter in male. Head in facial aspect generally ocher to bright ocher with two large dark brown patterns and dark brown spots on frontoclypeus, apical margin of crown without black spot, vertex with two spots. Face in lateral aspect distinctly bowed, center of eye almost half-way between apical margin of crown and apical margin of lorum. Pronotum uniformly ocher to bright ocher, fore margin slightly more strongly produced than in male, with dark ocher patch behind each eye, posterior margin slightly brighter, first plural sclerite in lateral aspect subpentagonal, without black spots. Scutellum with washed pale brown scutellar spots, between scutellar spots with pale concave spots. Forewing usually pale brown with pale ocher veins.</p> <p>Female genitalia. Valvulae-II with 3–4 preapical teeth each.</p> <p>Length. Male 4.0− 4.2mm, female 4.7–5.0mm.</p> <p>Type materials. Holotype: male, Hallasan Jeju-do province, Korea, 22.vii.1981, Y.J. Kwon (KNU). Paratypes: 14 males, 15 females, same data as holotype.</p> <p>Distribution. Korea (Jeju-do).</p> <p>Etymology. Named the species after the first author's daughter Sophie.</p> <p>Host plant. Unknown.</p> <p>Remarks.
