Holotype MNHN.F. A71352 (the distal two-thirds of a wing, very well preserved with all details of venation), stored at the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle, Paris, France.

Etymology. Named after our friend and colleague Dr Romain Garrouste, for his contributions to palaeoentomology.

Diagnosis. As for the genus.

Description. It is not possible to determine if the fossil is a fore- or a hind wing because these are very similar in the Caloneurodea. Length of fragment 8.1 mm, wing 2.8 mm wide; distance from wing apex and apex of ScP 5.6 mm; ScP strongly concave, ending into C opposite first fork of M; area between C and ScP 0.2 mm wide; distance between base of RP and apex of ScP 1.9 mm; convex RA smoothly posteriorly curved, with its apex 1.1 mm from wing apex; area between C and RA narrow with one row of cells; area between RA and RP slightly broader, with one row of cells, RP with three long branches, anteriorly curved, and one-two row of cells in-between; first branch 2.4 mm from base of RP and 5.4 mm from wing apex; concave M, with two long branches, anteriorly curved in their distal parts; one row of cells between M and RP and branches of M; convex CuA (+CuPaα) nearly straight, area between M and posterior wing margin with a series of veinlets distal of apex of CuA; CuA posteriorly curved apically; a series of simple veinlets in area between CuA and posterior wing margin; apical part of concave CuPaβ preserved, CuA and CuP strictly parallel, 0.5 mm apart.

Type locality and horizon. ‘ Terril N °7’, Avion, Pasde-Calais, France; Moscovian (Westphalian C /D equivalent to Bolsovian/Asturian).

http://treatment.plazi.org/id/C311D210FFB7EB509C33F95F36C9EDC7	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
