Yunnan, Mo-so-yn, August 1888, Delavay 4560 [lectotype designated here: P (P00405972 image!); isolectotypes: P (P00405970 image!, P00405971 image!)]; Yunnan, Ta-pin-tze, 2000 m, July 1886, Delavay s.n. [syntype: P (P00405973 image!)]; Lan-kong, 3000 m, July 1885, Delavay 1688 [syntypes: P (P00405974 image!, P00405975 image!)]; Yunnan mountains, July 1897, Ducloux 310 [syntypes: P (P00426060 image!, P00426059 image!), K (K000796936 image!), LE (LE01012224 image!)].

Notes:— This species is endemic to China with distribution limited to Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou provinces along the elevation range of 1500–3200 m. Finet (1901) named Habenaria delavayi in honor of Pe ̀re Jean-Marie Delavay (1834– 1895). In the protologue, Finet mentioned the exsiccata from Yunnan — Delavay s.n. (July 1886), Delavay 1688 (July 1885), Delavay 4560 (August 1888) and Ducloux 310 (July 1897), without designating any of them specifically as type, thus consequently all these vouchers belonging to the exsiccata are syntypes (ICN, Art. 9.6). While searching for these specimens, a set of all of these specimens was located at P: Delavay 4560 with 3 duplicates, Delavay s.n. single specimen, Delavay 1688 with 2 duplicates and Ducloux 310 with 2 duplicates; moreover, duplicates of Ducloux 310 were also found at K and LE. However, duplicates of other syntypes could not be traced elsewhere but P. Of the 3 exsiccata of Delavay 4560 at P, one of them (P00405972) bears the label of ‘type’ and the other two (P00405970, P00405971) are labelled as ‘isotype’, but referring to the protologue, there is no such specifically designated specimen; following McNeil (2014), this does not infer as the holotype designation, hence it must be an error and thus demands clarification. Consequently, Delavay 4560 specimen with barcode no. P00405972 is designated here as the lectotype, the other two duplicates thus became isolectotypes.

http://treatment.plazi.org/id/F87587E2AF3EB525FF0CFB24F66BF8D3	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply. Yunnan, 1882, Delavay 385 [lectotype designated here: P (P00426260 image!); isolectotype P (P00426259 image!)]; Salween valley, Prince H. d’Orleans s. n. [syntype: P (P00426258 image!)].

Notes:— Schlechter described Habenaria finetiana based on the previously published account of two varieties (Habenaria geniculata var. yunnanensis and H. miersiana var. yunnanensis) by Finet. H. miersiana var. yunnanensis, whose original materials are cited as Delavay 385 and d’Orleans s.n. in the protologue, is in fact the basionym of H. geniculata var. yunnanensis, which in turn is the replaced synonym of H. finetiana. In the herbarium P, we found two duplicates of Delavay 385 (P 00426260, P 00426259) and a single exsiccatum of Prince d’Orleans s.n. (P 00426258) albeit stored under H. dentata, this error may have been occurred due to the synonymy of H. geniculata for the former, in fact it was a case of status change. To come out of this confusion regarding the original material, we have designated the Delavay 385 specimen at P with the barcode P 00426260 as the lectotype and thus its duplicate P 00426259 becomes the isolectotype, while the status of d’Orleans s.n. (P 00426258) specimen remains unchanged to syntype.

http://treatment.plazi.org/id/F87587E2AF3EB524FF0CF8C8F02FFE6D	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply. Y. Lang 1984

Habenaria wolongensis K.Y. Lang (1984: 314).

Type:— CHINA. Sichuan, Wolong, 2200 m, 24 August 1982, K. Y. Lang, L. Q. Li & Y. Fei 1528 [lectotype designated here: PE! (barcode 01147127), isolectotype: PE! (barcode 01147128)].

Notes:— While designating the type of Habenaria wolongensis, K.Y. Lang has mentioned ‘ K. Y. Lang, L. Q. Li & Y. Fei 1528 (Typus, PE)’ in the protologue; however during a search for the type materials at PE, we found two specimens with that label. Evidently, they were of the same gathering and thus both of them should be regarded as syntypes (Art. 9.6, Art. 40 Note 1). In such circumstances, for typification, we had to choose one of them and we choose the specimen bearing the barcode no. 01147127 as the lectotype, it is the same specimen that has been illustrated in the protologue.

http://treatment.plazi.org/id/F87587E2AF3FB524FF0CFE29F728FD0A	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
