Dischistus (Cacoplox) griseata: Hall, 1976: 44–45.</p> <p>Dischistus (Cacoplox) griseatus: Painter, Painter &amp; Hall, 1978: 8.</p> <p>Cacoplox griseatus: Evenhuis &amp; Greathead, 1999: 143.</p> <p>Male</p> <p>Body length: 14.7–18.7mm; wing length: 10.3–14mm.</p> <p>Head: front dark brown with dark brown hairs; antenna with a conical hump at their base (Fig. 1); face dark brown with yellowish­white and dark brown hairs; orogenal cup polished, light brown and gray pollinose; palpus light brown with yellowish­white and scattered brown hairs; proboscis 5 times longer than palpus, projecting beyond the oral margin by 5/6 of its length; labellum long, 1/6 of the length of the proboscis; antennae with scape and pedicel cylindrical, dark brown with gray pollinosity, yellowish­white hairs and scattered dark brown bristles on the dorsal surface; scape twice as long as pedicel; flagellum dark brown, similar in length to scape and pedicel together; three flagellomeres; ocellar tubercle dark brown, darker on margin, with gray pollinosity and dark brown bristles; occiput dark brown with gray pollinosity, long yellowish­white hairs and short dark brown bristles.</p> <p>Thorax: mesonotum dark brown with long yellowish­white hairs laterally and scattered short yellowish­white ones dorsally; scutellum, on posterior margin with long yellowish­white hairs and dark brown bristles; halter light brown with yellow knob; calypter with long yellowish­white hairs on margin; metepisternum with white hairs on posterior upper corner; katepisternum with long yellowish­white hairs; anepimeron bare; anepisternum with long yellowish­white hairs mixed with dark brown ones; notopleuron with long yellowish­white hairs; postalar callus with five strong dark brown bristles; supra alar callus with yellowish­white and scattered dark brown hairs.</p> <p>Legs: coxa I dark brown, gray pollinose with yellowish­white and long dark brown hairs; coxa II dark brown, gray pollinose with long light brown hairs on all surfaces and also dark brown ones ventrally; coxa III dark brown, gray pollinose, covered with yellowish­white and dark brown hairs; femur I dark brown with yellowish­white scales, yellowish­white hairs and dark brown bristles; femur II dark brown with yellowish­white scales, yellowish­white hairs and dark brown bristles longer on basal half of the ventral surface; femur III dark brown with yellowish­white scales, yellowish­white hairs and strong, short dark brown bristles on apical third of the anteroventral surface and fine and long ones on basal 2/3 of the ventral surface (Fig. 2); tibia I light brown, with a few dark brown bristles and a pair of strong apical bristles; tibia II light brown, with dark brown bristles and two pairs of strong apical bristles; tibia III light brown, with dark brown bristles; pretarsus long, with bristles and short dark brown hairs on all segments; claws light brown, with dark brown apex; pulvilli light brown, a little shorter than the claws.</p> <p>Wing: hyaline with costal area light brown; two submarginal and four posterior cells; r­m crossvein at apical fourth of discal cell; anal cell elongated and open on wing margin by half the length of the r­m crossvein.</p> <p>Abdomen: dark brown, covered with mixed long dark brown and yellowish­white hairs. The dark brown hairs mainly placed on apex of the tergites and the yellowish­white ones at the base.</p> <p>Genitalia: gonocoxa broad in lateral view, with round apex, covered with bristles on apical half, stronger at the superior margin; gonostylus hook­shaped, with a central concavity, with short, strong bristles in the apical 1/3 of the ventral surface; distiphallus long, surpassing apex of posterior gonocoxal process; lateral aedeagal apodeme not surpassing gonocoxal margins (Fig. 3); ejaculatory apodeme with round margin in lateral view and a small projection on the inferior margin (Fig. 5).</p> <p>Female</p> <p>Body length: 15–18.2mm; wing length: 11–14mm.</p> <p>Similar to the male, except for:</p> <p>Spermathecae: furca “M”­shaped, with lateral processes enlarged and hook­like apically (Fig. 4); spermathecae oval, without membrane around the base; spermathecal ducts wide, 4 times longer than spermathecae; sperm pump placed on apical 1/3 of the spermathecal duct, 2/3 of the spermathecae in length; sclerotized collars with irregular projections on the edge; spermathecal ducts fused at the base to form a short common spermathecal duct (Fig. 6).</p> <p>Distribution</p> <p>Argentina, Jujuy. Chile, Antofagasta Province (Anãs, Catarape, Linoza, Púrica and Tumbre) and Coricó Province (Coigo).</p> <p>Material examined</p> <p>ARGENTINA, Jujuy: Cincel river (3500–3700), 10.XI.1970, 1 male (MZSP).
