Compared with the twelve species that share the dorsal macrochaetotaxy of Abd III (E. armeniensis Jordana, Potapov & Baquero, 2011 in Jordana et al. 2011 a, E. cheni Baquero, Arbea & Jordana, 2010 in Baquero et al. 2010 a, E. chooyuae Yosii, 1971, E. fjellbergi Baquero & Jordana, 2008, E. handschini Stach, 1922, E. hirsutothorax Jordana & Baquero sp. nov., E. iraqensis Jordana & Baquero, 2010, E. kuznetsovae Jordana, Potapov & Baquero, 2011 in Jordana et al. 2011 a, E. murreensis Yosii & Ashraf, 1965, E. pazaristei Denis, 1933, E. strigata Stach, 1963, E. taigicola Jordana, Potapov & Baquero, 2011 in Jordana et al. 2011 a), it can be separated from them by the general dorsal macrochaetotaxy and other morphological characters shown in Table 2. The new species have 12 and 14 – 16 Mc on T 1 and T 2 areas (Th II) respectively, while the remaining species have less. The new species have 9 Mc on area A 2 (Abd II), while the remaining species have seven or fewer Mc. The new species has a different color pattern from the other species. Some of these species have dark pigment arranged as longitudinal stripes: five (E. hanschini, E. hirsutothorax), three (E. fjellbergi, E. iraquensis), two and lateral (E. chooyuae, E. murreensis), two totally lateral (E. armeniensis) or two only on the posterior part of the body (E. pazaristei). Other species have transversal stripes: moderately broad (E. strigata), very narrow (E. cheni, with a pale general pattern); one has pigment only on posterior dorsal Abd IV (E. kuznetsovae). E. taigicola is yellow without any additional pigment. Legend for the headers of the columns. The group of species of Entomobrya that share with E. kremenitsai sp. nov. the dorsal macrochaetae simplified formula for areas A 1 – 2 on Abd II (1 – 2) are E. albocincta (Templeton, 1836) in Templeton & Westwood 1836, E. arborea (Tullberg, 1871), E. boneti Jordana & Baquero, 2006, E. chomolungmae Yosii, 1971, E. chungseensis Baquero & Jordana, 2008, E. citrensis Katz & Soto-Adames in Katz et al. 2015 b, E. germanica Jordana, Schulz & Baquero, 2011 in Jordana et al., 2011 b, E. kabardinica Jordana, Potapov & Baquero, 2011 in Jordana et al. 2011 a, E. kajjairensis Baquero & Jordana in Baquero et al., 2015, E. karasukensis Jordana, Potapov & Baquero, 2011 in Jordana et al. 2011 a, E. kasprowiensis Furgoł, 2017, E. ladakhi Jordana & Baquero in Baquero et al., 2014, E. marginata (Tullberg, 1871), E. neotenica Katz & Soto-Adames in Katz et al. 2015 b, E. nigrina Latzel, 1917, E. nigrita Baijal, 1958, E. nigrocincta Denis, 1923, E. obensis Linnaniemi, 1919, E. proxima Folsom, 1924, E. pusilla Latzel, 1918, E. pyrenaica Cassagnau, 1964, E. schulzi Jordana & Baquero, 2011 in Jordana et al., 2011 b, E. stebaevae Jordana, Potapov & Baquero, 2011 in Jordana et al. 2011 a, E. transversalis Baquero & Jordana in Baquero et al. 2010 b. The differences in dorsal macrochaetotaxy among all these species are in Table 3. The new species differs by having 3 – 5 macrochaetae on Th II. Other differentiated characters are: labral papilla multispinate (smooth in E. albocincta, E. kabardinica, E. marginata, E. nigrita, E. obensis, E. pusilla, E. schulzi, and E. stebaevae); E. boneti has the antennal apical vesicle trilobate; E. nigrita has the subapical tooth of mucro smaller than the apical one; only E. chomolungmae and E. germanica have the antennae with similar length in relation with head; E. nigrina and E. pusilla have the subapical tooth of mucro larger than apical, while E. karasukensis, E. nigrita, and E. pyrenaica have it smaller. Of all these species, the only ones that have some similarity in coloration (transverse bands of a certain width, more or less 4 – 6 bands, including a wide band in Abd IV) are: E. citrensis, with narrow bands in Abd I – II, and broad in Abd III – V, and yellowish background; E. germanica, which has a greater number of bands, including Th III and Abd I, and dark background; E. kabardinica, with a coloration similar to the new species, very irregular in the central area; E. ladakhi, with broad bands in all tergites, and also a dark background; E. obensis, which has fully pigmented Th III and Abd II – III; and E. pyrenaica, with a very peculiar variable pattern of pigmentation, especially in the Abd IV. E. kabardinica differs from the new species, in addition to the mentioned characters, by having shorter antennae (Ant / head diagonal <2), claw dorsal tooth basal, empodium with smooth external lamella (pe), shorter furca, and less general size. E. neotenica lacks m 5 in Th II, and a 2 on Abd III, and has C 1 on Abd IV; the color is quite different from the new species, with 8 - black spots instead of transversal bands. 027087B5A8597840CCE7FB4EFD9FF936.taxon	discussion	Remarks. E. dagestanicus sp. nov. shares dorsal macrochaetotaxy of Abd II – III with E. guthriei Mills, 1931 from Hawaii; E. kalakaua Carpenter, 1904; E. purpurascens (Packard, 1873) (2 – 3 (4) / 0 - 2 - 1). The new species sharply differs from them by macrochaetae formula of Th II (1 - 6). The macrochaetotaxy of Abd II – III has not yet been described for two Nearctic species E. dissimilis Moniez, 1894, and E. mineola Folsom, 1924, but these species differ by color pattern. All the described species of Entomobryoides are compared in Table 4. 027087B5A8457845CCE7FBFEFC24FEB5.taxon	description	Description of specimens from Nord Caucasus. Body length (excluding antennae) 1.90 mm, up to 2.30 mm. Ground color yellowish. Scales rounded as in Fig. 10 C. Head. Two eyes: AB (Fig. 9 A). Antennae length 0.85 mm, 2.2 times the length of the head; Ant IV without apical vesicle and with pin chaeta; distribution of ciliated chaetae, smooth chaetae, and sensilla as in Figs 10 D – F; subapical organite as a drumstick, with accompanying chaeta; sensory organ of Ant III with the special sensilla long-ovoidal (wider at its basis), and three guards additional sensilla; relative length of Ant I / II / III / IV = 1 / 1.60 / 2.00 / 3.10. Prelabral and labral chaetae smooth. Labral papillae absent. Maxillary palp bifurcate, with three sublobal chaetae. Lateral process of labial papilla E surpassing the papilla tip. Labial posterior row with all chaetae smooth (mmrell), r 2 / 3 of m. Body. Abd IV / III length ratio = 1.45 (between 1.2 – 1.7). Trochanteral organ with approximately 10 – 12 chaetae. Tibiotarsus not sub-segmented, with smooth chaetae. Claw with two or three teeth: paired at 50 % and first unpaired (when present) at 75 % from basis; dorsal teeth basal (Fig. 10 B). Empodium lanceolate, with a tooth on external lamella (pe) in leg III. Tenent hair acuminate. Length of manubrium and dens 0.32 and 0.5 mm, respectively (average for n = 2). Manubrial plate with six chaetae and two pseudopores. Mucro with subapical tooth bigger than apical one, mucronal spine reaching the tip of the subapical tooth. Macrochaetotaxy (Figs 9 A – C). In this description, we intend to apply the dorsal macrochaetotaxy of Entomobryini to this species. Simplified Mc formula: 6 - 2 - 0 - 3 - 0 / 0 - 3 / 0 - 2 / 0 - 0 - 1 / 0 - 0 - 0 - 1 - 1. Head: H 1 area with six Mc (An 2, An An 3 a 1, An 3 a, and An 3; there is in addition a posterior chaeta to An 3 a 2); H 2 area with two Mc (A 5 and A 6); H 3 without Mc; H 4 area with three Mc (S 1, S 3, and S 4 i); H 4 ’ area with three Mc (S 6, S 5, and S 4); H 5 area without Mc. Mesothorax: area T 1 without Mc; T 2 with three Mc (a 5, m 4, and m 4 p). Abdomen: AbdII area A 1 without Mc, area A 2 with two Mc (m 3 ep and m 3 e), no external Mc to bothriotrichum a 5, ‘ as’ and ‘ s’ present; AbdIII without Mc on A 3 and A 4 areas, A 5 with m 3 as Mc, m 6 and p 6 as Mc, ‘ s’ between m 6 and p 6, ‘ ms’ interior; AbdIV without Mc on areas A 6 – A 8, A 9 with one Mc (A 5), A 10 with one Mc (B 6); sensillar formula very similar to the Entomobryidae: 2,2 / 1,2,3,7,3, and long like-sensilla chaetae (long and smooth) all over the tergite AbdIV; microsensillar formula: 1,0 / 1,0,1.	en	Baquero, Enrique, Potapov, Mikhail, Jordana, Rafael (2021): New species and records of Entomobryidae and Orchesellidae (Collembola) from the East Caucasus (Russia). 027087B5A8457845CCE7FBFEFC24FEB5.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Mari-Mutt (1980) wrote an exhaustive survey of the genus with nearly complete descriptions of the species. However, some important characters currently used for the identification were not considered at that moment. The dorsal macrochaetotaxy of specimens identified as H. nitidus from caves in Navarra (Spain) and those from Caucasus appear to be identical except for small differences in the head. The subfamily Heteromurinae belongs to the family Orchesellidae owing only to the subdivision of the Ant I.	en	Baquero, Enrique, Potapov, Mikhail, Jordana, Rafael (2021): New species and records of Entomobryidae and Orchesellidae (Collembola) from the East Caucasus (Russia).
