Spilolonchoptera hainanensis sp. nov.</p> <p>Figs. 1–8</p> <p>Diagnosis. Wing with a large wide brown subapical not reaching C and posterior margin; M 1+2 slightly shorter than M 2; abdominal sternites dark yellow; cercus nearly 1/2 as long as epandrium; pregonite widely concave at posterior margin, narrow at base; postgonite broad apically, terminal spine decurved.</p> <p>Description. Male (n = 6): Body length 2.4–2.6 mm, wing length 2.9–3.1 mm.</p> <p>Head (Figs 1, 5). Generally dull black. Hairs and bristles dark brown except those on lower occiput and oral margin brownish yellow. Antennal scape and pedicel yellow, first flagellomere including arista brown. Proboscis and palpus brown with brown hairs.</p> <p>Thorax (Figs 1, 5). Generally dull black. Hairs and bristles dark brown. Pronotum and scutum dull black, scutellum and postnotum blackish. Thoracic pleuron mostly brown to dark brown. Legs mostly dark yellow except fore femur with black dorsal spot at tip, fore tibia and tarsus black, hind femur dark brown at tip, mid and hind tarsomere 5 brown. Hairs and bristles on legs blackish. Fore femur with 1-2 short d, 1 short p, 1 long av and 1 long pv apically. Fore tibia with 1 short a d, 1 short pd and 1 long pv apically. Fore tarsomere 1 with 1 short v apically. Mid femur with 1 long d, 1 long av and 1 long pv apically. Mid tibia with 2 long ad and 1 slightly short pd; apically with 1 short ad, 1 short av and long pv. Hind femur with 4 long irregular d, 3-4 long av and 1 long pv apically. Hind tibia with 2 long ad, 1 long pd and 2 short av, apically with 1 pd. Hind tarsomere 1 with 1 long thick av and 1 long thick pv at extreme base, apically with 1 short av and 1 short pv. Wing (Figs 1, 3). Generally pale yellow hyaline, more yellow at base, a large brown subapical spot not reaching C and posterior margin; veins brown, more yellowed in brightened areas. Relative lengths of M 1+2: M 2 = 44: 56. Halter length approximately 0.4 mm, pale yellow.</p> <p>Abdomen (Fig. 1). Tergites shining black with short black hairs; sternites dark yellow with short brownish yellow hairs. Male genitalia (Figs 6–8). Generally brown. Epandrium somewhat short, 1.5 times longer than wide; cercus blunt at base, widely at middle, sharp distally with setulae, about 1/2 as long as epandrium, bare at middle line, wide basally, sharp at tip; pregonite 2.0 times longer than wide, slightly narrowed at base, widely concave at posterior margin; postgonite short thick with acute lateral process.</p> <p>Female (n = 8) (Figs 2, 4). Body length 2.6–2.8 mm, wing length 3.2–3.4 mm. Generally resembling male except wing with brownish spot at middle of cell M 4+5. Female genitalia: cercus small with setulae; epiproct and hypoproct small but distinct, with many small setulae.</p> <p>Type material. Holotype: male (CAU), China: Hainan, Changjiang, Bawangling, 2008.V.1–3, Ruichun Cai. Paratypes: 5 males, 8 females (CAU), China: Hainan, Changjiang, Bawangling, 2008.V.1–3, Ruichun Cai.</p> <p>Distribution. China (Hainan).</p> <p>Etymology. The species is named after type locality Hainan.</p> <p>Remarks. This new species is similar to S. yangi Dong &amp;Yang from Shaanxi, Gansu and Ningxia, but can be separated from the latter by M 1+2 shorter than M 2 and sternites dark yellow (Figs 1, 3). Epandrium distinctly elongated, 2.0 times longer than wide; cercus blunt at base, widely at middle, blunt distally with setulae, nearly 1/3 as long as epandrium, bare at middle line, wider basally, sharp at tip; pregonite 3.0 times longer than wide, widely concave at posterior margin; postgonite long slender, without lateral process.</p> <p>Female unknown.</p> <p>Type material. Holotype: male (CAU), China: Zhejiang, Qingyuan, Baishanzu, 1590m, 2017.V.21, Qingxia Zhou.</p> <p>Distribution. China (Zhejiang).</p> <p>Etymology. The species is named after type locality Zhejiang province.</p> <p>Remarks. This new species is similar to S. brevicaudata Dong &amp;Yang from Yunnan, but can be separated from the latter by the wing spot not reaching C and sternites brownish yellow (Figs 9, 11).
