Holotype: Male (IZCAS Ar41821), seasonal rainforest (21°36’40.40”N, 101°34’25.60”E, elevation 855 ± 30 m), <a href="http://tb.plazi.org/GgServer/search?materialsCitation.longitude=101.57378&amp;materialsCitation.latitude=21.611223" title="Search Plazi for locations around (long 101.57378/lat 21.611223)">Bubeng Village</a>, Mengla County, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, China, 11 July 2012, Zhigang Chen &amp; Qingyuan Zhao leg. Paratypes: 2 females (IZCAS Ar41822–41823), same data as holotype.</p> <p>Etymology. The specific name refers to the type locality and is a noun in apposition.</p> <p>Diagnosis. This species resembles B. cas Yao &amp; Li, 2018 (see Yao et al. 2018: 250, figs 7–8, 11D, 12D) by having similar external female genitalia (Figs 2A, 5A) but females can be distinguished by the presence of a short scape (arrow s in Figs 2B, 5B) and narrow pore plates (arrow pp in Figs 2B, 5B) and by the absence of serrated sclerites on vulva. Males can be distinguished by the presence of a bifid subdisto-prolateral sclerite (arrow 1 in Figs 1C, 5C), nearly trapezoidal subdisto-ventral sclerite (arrow 2 in Figs 1C, 5C), curved subdisto-prolateral sclerite (arrow 3 in Figs 1C, 5C), fan-shaped disto-retrolateral membranous lamella (arrow 1 in Figs 1D, 5D), small disto-retrolateral sclerite (arrow 2 in Figs 1D, 5D) on the procursus, longer male cheliceral distal apophyses (arrow da in Fig. 2B), and by the presence of a long distal spine on the embolus (arrow in Fig. 2C).</p> <p>Description. Male (holotype, IZCAS Ar41821): Total length 1.62 (1.70 with clypeus), carapace 0.79 long, 0.66 wide, opisthosoma 0.91 long, 0.69 wide. Leg I: – (1.78 + 0.28 + – + – + –), leg II: – (1.64 + 0.25 + 1.60 + 2.59 + –), leg III: 4.50 (1.34 + 0.16 + 1.09 + 1.44 + 0.47), femur IV: 1.68, other segments missing. Distance PME-PME 0.23, diameter PME 0.06, distance PME-ALE 0.07, AME absent. Sternum approximately as wide as long (0.50). Habitus as in Figs 2 E–F. Carapace pale, with brown lateral margins and small, brown median marks; sternum pale, without marks. Legs pale, without darker rings. Opisthosoma pale, without spots. Ocular area not elevated. Thoracic furrow absent. Clypeus unmodified. Chelicerae (Fig. 2D) with pair of small proximo-lateral apophyses and pair of long, curved distal apophyses, each with a sclerotized and pointed tip (distance between tips of distal apophyses: 0.23). Pedipalps as in Figs 1 A–B; coxa unmodified; trochanter with short ventral apophysis with small retrolateral apophysis (arrow 1 in Fig. 1B); femur with small proximo-dorsal apophysis (arrow 2 in Fig. 1B); procursus (Figs 1 A–D, 5C–D) simple proximally but complex distally, with bifid subdisto-prolateral sclerite (arrow 1 in Figs 1C, 5C), nearly trapezoidal subdisto-ventral sclerite (arrow 2 in Figs 1C, 5C), curved subdisto-prolateral sclerite (arrow 3 in Figs 1C, 5C), fan-shaped disto-retrolateral membranous lamella (arrow 1 in Figs 1D, 5D), and small distoretrolateral sclerite (arrow 2 in Figs 1D, 5D); bulb (Fig. 2C) with cone-shaped elongation, with distally sclerotized apophysis (arrow ba in Fig. 2C), and embolus with a long distal spine (arrow in Fig. 2C). Legs with short, vertical setae on metatarsi, without spines or curved setae.</p> <p>Female (IZCAS Ar41822): Similar to male, habitus as in Figs 2 G–H. Total length 1.66 (1.74 with clypeus), carapace 0.78 long, 0.68 wide, opisthosoma 0.96 long, 0.73 wide. Tibia I: 2.44; tibia I L/d: 28. Distance PME-PME 0.24, diameter PME 0.06, distance PME-ALE 0.07, AME absent. Sternum approximately as wide as long (0.53). External female genitalia (Figs 2A, 5A) simple and flat, with pair of frontal “epigynal” pockets laterally on sclerotized plate (arrow ep in Figs 2 A–B, 5A–B), 0.21 apart. Vulva (Figs 2B, 5B) with a pair of long, narrow pore plates (arrow pp in Figs 2B, 5B), without serrated sclerites, and with short scape (arrow s in Figs 2B, 5B).</p> <p>Natural history. The species was found in leaf litter and collected by small plot direct searching.</p> <p>Variation: Tibia I in female paratype (IZCAS Ar41823): 2.24.</p> <p>Distribution. This species resembles B. menglun Yao &amp; Li, 2020 (see Zhu et al. 2020a: 334, figs 3–4) by the similar bulbal apophyses (Fig. 4A) but can be distinguished by the presence of a serrated subdisto-ventral sclerite (arrow 1 in Figs 3C, 5E), disto-prolateral spine (arrow 4 in Figs 3C, 5E), and narrow retrolateral membranous flap (arrow f in Figs 3D, 5F) on the procursus, and the male cheliceral distal apophyses are directed downward (arrow da in Fig. 4B; distal apophyses directed laterally in B. menglun).</p> <p>Description. Male (holotype, IZCAS Ar41824): Total length 1.72 (1.88 with clypeus), carapace 0.78 long, 0.72 wide, opisthosoma 1.10 long, 0.63 wide. Leg I: 16.86 (4.23 + 0.26 + 4.36 + 6.73 + 1.28), leg II: 11.22 (3.21 + 0.25 + 2.76 + 4.17 + 0.83), leg III: 7.55 (2.24 + 0.19 + 1.92 + 2.69 + 0.51), leg IV: 9.70 (2.82 + 0.22 + 2.56 + 3.33 + 0.77); tibia I L/d: 70. Distance PME-PME 0.13, diameter PME 0.06, distance PME-ALE 0.09, AME absent. Sternum slightly wider than long (0.61/0.54). Habitus as in Figs 4 C–E. Carapace and sternum pale, without marks. Legs pale, without darker rings. Opisthosoma pale, without spots. Ocular area not elevated. Thoracic furrow absent. Clypeus unmodified. Chelicerae (Fig. 4B) with pair of small proximo-lateral apophyses and a pair of long, curved distal apophyses, each with sclerotized and pointed tip (distance between tips of distal apophyses: 0.47). Pedipalps as in Figs 3 A–B; coxa unmodified; trochanter with short retrolatero-ventral apophysis; femur with small proximodorsal apophysis (arrow in Fig. 3B); procursus (Figs 3 A–D, 5E–F) simple proximally but complex distally, with serrated subdisto-ventral sclerite (arrow 1 in Figs 3C, 5E), bifid subdisto-prolateral sclerite (arrow 2 in Figs 3C, 5E), long distal membranous lamella (arrow 3 in Figs 3C, 5E), disto-prolateral spine (arrow 4 in Figs 3C, 5E), and with narrow retrolateral membranous flap (arrow f in Figs 3D, 5F); bulb (Fig. 4A) with long, hooked apophysis and simple embolus. Retrolateral trichobothria of tibia I at 10% proximally; legs with short vertical setae on metatarsi, without spines and curved setae; tarsus I with 22 distinct pseudosegments.</p> <p>Female: Unknown.</p> <p>Variation: Tibia I in male paratype (IZCAS Ar41825): 4.56.</p> <p>Natural history. The species was found on the underside of leaves and collected by canopy fogging.</p> <p>Distribution.
