Gemici & Kit Tan 2011	<div><p>Saponaria emineana Y.Gemici &amp; Kit Tan, sp. nov. ― Figs. 1–4</p> <p>Saponaria eminea ab S. pamphylica differt habitu densius caespitoso, basi compacta lignosa et fortiter ramosa, foliis basalibus subsucculentis anguste oblanceolatis-spathulatis, petali limbus usque ad ¼– ⅓ bifidus (nec ad ½), antherae purpureae (nec albidae), capsula seminibus pluribus, i. e. 25–30 (nec 20).</p> <p>Type:― TURKEY. Province B3 Afyon: Sandıklı, Sorkun, <a href="http://tb.plazi.org/GgServer/search?materialsCitation.longitude=30.066668&amp;materialsCitation.latitude=38.383335" title="Search Plazi for locations around (long 30.066668/lat 38.383335)">Kestel River valley</a>, dry stream bed and embankments, on sandy, gravelly and stony ground, 38 ° 23 ’ N, 30 ° 04 ’ E, ca. 1055 m, 23 July 1983, Y. Gemici 2524 (holotype EGE!, isotypes C!, EGE!).</p> <p>Densely tufted, compact, mat-forming perennial, much-branched and woody at base. Flowering stems procumbent to ascending, up to 35 cm long, glandular-hairy on pedicels, bracteoles and calyx. Basal leaves subfleshy, 1-veined, narrowly oblanceolate-spathulate, 11–71 × 1.8–6.7 mm, glaucous, glabrous, scabridulous at margin; young leaves sometimes ovate or slightly falcate, often involute. Cauline leaves 11–43 × 1.5–6.0 mm, glaucous; lower oblanceolate, upper ones lanceolate to linear-lanceolate. Inflorescence corymbosepaniculate, 3–16-flowered. Pedicels 1–9 mm, erect, densely glandular-hairy. Bracteoles lanceolate to linear, up to 7 mm long, resembling cauline leaves but densely glandular-hairy. Calyx cylindrical, up to 26 mm, densely glandular-hairy; teeth acuminate, 2.7–3.5 mm long. Corolla up to 32 mm, longer than calyx, glabrous, pale to deep pink; limb obovate, 8.1–9.7 mm, bifid to 1/4–1/3 with lobes 2.1–3.1 mm long, inrolled at apex; scales at base of limb 2, linear-lanceolate, 1.9–3.1 mm long. Stamens exserted; filaments magenta-purple; anthers pink. Style shortly exserted. Carpophore 2.2–5 × 1.6–3 mm. Capsule oblong-cylindrical, shorter than calyx, 14.1–17.5 × 3.1–4.9 mm; teeth acute, 3.1–3.5 mm long. Seeds 25–30 per capsule, 1.7–2.1 × 1.7–1.9 mm, black, colliculate.
