Rimularia umbratilis Kantvilas & Coppins, in Coppins & Kantvilas (2001: 44).
Type:— AUSTRALIA. Tasmania, track to Clear Hill, 42°41’S 146°15’E, on sheltered conglomerate boulders in subalpine heathland, alt. c. 1000 m, 12 January 2000, G. Kantvilas 19/00 (holotype − HO!; isotype − E!).
Endemic to Tasmania where it is occasional in sheltered microhabitats on highly siliceous, pre-Carboniferous, metamorphosed rocks in the south-west of the island. This species is closely related to L. applanata, L. globulispora and the newly described L. plumbea (see Table 1). A full description is provided by Coppins & Kantvilas (2001).
